UC Berkeley’s graduate programs in computer and electrical engineering, computer science, and statistics continue to receive high rankings by U.S. News & World Report, according to 2026 rankings released April 7.

The following rankings were given to Berkeley graduate programs:

Berkeley's computer engineering graduate program was tied for the No. 1 slot with the Massachusetts Institute for Technology. Berkeley's electrical engineering graduate program was tied for the No. 1 slot with programs at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology and Stanford University.

Berkeley’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) – which houses these graduate programs – is shared by the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society and the College of Engineering. 

Berkeley’s Department of Statistics includes a professional master’s program in statistics and data science and a Ph.D. program in statistics.

Several other Berkeley graduate programs in chemistry, business, education, public policy and more were listed in the top 10 for their disciplines. These rankings are based on a survey of academics at peer institutions conducted by U.S. News & World Report.
