To the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) community:

As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude for each of you and all that we have accomplished together.

This year, we’ve advanced critical conversations around AI, bringing together leaders from science, industry, policy, and civic life to explore how this transformative technology can address societal challenges, including climate change. We collaborated in launching initiatives to make science more accessible and healthcare more effective. And we continue to build UC Berkeley’s first new college in more than 50 years, while providing the next generation of ethical, data-driven leaders with top-ranked education and research opportunities.

The college’s sustained growth, innovation and excellence reflect the strength and passion of our faculty, students, staff, alumni and partners. We are capable of doing so much good together. I look forward to what we will achieve in 2025 and beyond.

Thank you for your dedication, your contributions and your commitment to our college community. Wishing you a joyful holiday season.
