This dynamic collaboration hub at UC Berkeley is nearing completion, with faculty and staff planning to move into the Gateway during summer 2026. Classrooms, lecture halls and event spaces are expected to be in use by fall 2026. The Gateway Café will also open in fall 2026.

The Gateway will convene and connect faculty, researchers and students from the college’s departments, labs and research institutes with colleagues across campus and beyond.

Building a new hub for collaboration

The Gateway includes research laboratories, classrooms, seminar and conference rooms, and social kitchens on every floor, providing a dedicated campus hub for AI-driven discovery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
