The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine remains inaccessible in many
developing nations. Measles is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide,
mumps is a highly contagious virus that can lead to viral meningitis, and rubella is a viral
disease and infection which during pregnancy can cause fetal death or congenital rubella
syndromes, thus causing birth defects. The goal of our project is to address the benefits of
nations investing in MMR vaccination and more extensive vaccination programs to help all
nations eliminate measles and rubella.
