The Senior College Advisor for Transfer Students (TS Advisor) specializes in advising transfer students in the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society. The TS Advisor is responsible for policy, program planning, development, and administration of transfer student services, including workshops, seminars, webinars, panels, and other events.

The Undergraduate Research Program Manager runs a research practicum for Data Science, Computer Science, and Statistics majors in the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society. The Undergraduate Research PM is responsible for recruiting both students and project mentors and ensuring a rewarding experience for all stakeholders. This position will provide analytical and program support for an innovative program designed to provide CDSS undergraduates with real-world research experience.

The Director of Facilities and Capital Projects reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance of the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society and is responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of all facilities and capital projects for the Gateway Building and other locations as assigned. This individual identifies objectives, manages projects involving very significant human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with an extremely high degree of autonomy. The Director must be innovative, entrepreneurial and knowledgeable about research laboratory functions and complex facility infrastructure. 

The Director of College Programs in the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) manages the College’s Office of Undergraduate Programs, including undergraduate research, career services, student life, and DEIBJ programs. The incumbent develops the long term organizational goals of this unit, develops and maintains strong relationships with the CDSS undergraduate college and major advisory groups and across campus. This role manages the financial and staffing resources for the unit and creates and maintains an efficient organizational structure directed at ensuring operational effectiveness.

The Internships & Career Services Programs Manager will apply advanced professional career development concepts, conduct strategic needs assessments of gaps in career exploration and preparation support for CDSS undergraduate students. The incumbent will identify opportunities for development of new programs and services associated with the Career Accelerator Program (CAP) in CDSS, use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of career practices, recruiting and employment trends, and campus policies and procedures to develop and deliver career search and training initiatives, including workshops, seminars, webinars, panels, and other events. The incumbent will represent college career services to the campus, and serve in a variety of leadership roles within the college and campus, as well as, develop and deliver career search and preparation initiatives, including leading
seminars and workshops for students, webinars, panels, and other events.

The College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) Director will work with the Executive Assistant Dean, Assistant Dean and other campus leaders to conceive, develop, implement, and manage fundraising initiatives to meet CDSS priorities, primarily through managing a fundraising portfolio and in collaboration on joint efforts with peers in the colleges and schools and with University Development and Alumni Relations colleagues. With a focus on leadership/major/principal gifts to support computing and data science education and research across the Berkeley campus, the Director will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donor prospects alone or in partnership with campus leadership or peers. The position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization and meet predetermined fundraising metrics, e.g. major gift officers are expected to raise a minimum of $1 million annually.

The Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) Executive Director will take a leadership role in managing and developing the Institute’s research programs and representing these programs to outside organizations. Under the direction of the BIDS faculty director, the ED will develop the vision and corresponding agenda to achieve the Institute’s objectives. The incumbent will oversee all elements of program administration, facilitate collaborations among multiple research groups from across the campus as well as with partner organizations, and provide leadership in identifying outreach services. The Executive Director will work under the direction of the Institute’s academic leadership to formulate strategic goals and objectives, direct long-term planning, and develop policies and procedures, and raise funding from external sources.

The Assistant Director, BIDMaP is responsible for developing programmatic ideas, strategies and mechanisms for the institute to rapidly advance its scientific objectives and internal stakeholder engagement objectives. The Assistant Director collaborates with faculty leadership and the executive director to sequence and prioritize programmatic rollout, and will be responsible for program implementation. The AD works with faculty on formulating short-term planning and procedures of the programs, develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. The AD works under direction of the Faculty Director and Co-Director to set annual agenda, funding, objectives, ensuring strategic and programmatic alignment with BIDMaP long term goals. 

UC Berkeley Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) has been pioneering an open source teaching stack with many components. This position would be responsible for software maintenance and development. Technical knowledge would include programming in Python, knowledge of the Data Science software stack, knowledge of Github, and familiarity with course infrastructure. This position would be responsible for supporting and training instructors, administrative staff, students on course staff, and enrolled students who all interact with the teaching stack software. 

The BIDMaP Executive Director independently oversees a moderately sized, fast-growing, cutting-edge interdisciplinary academic research program. Performs long- and short-term planning for the Institute, including funding projections and financial sustainability. Designs and develops major programmatic strategies and procedures; identifies and pursues funding opportunities and revenue streams; produces reports and project and program reviews, and represents the program to internal UCB units and outside organizations.
