Katie Carson is the director of undergraduate advising at the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS), leading the advising team. She joined CDSS in August 2024 after working at UC Berkeley since 2015, first as an academic advisor for Molecular and Cell Biology and then as assistant director for undergraduate advising in the Biosciences Division. 

Before joining Berkeley, Katie worked with computer science and engineering students at Grand Valley State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History from Calvin University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education with a concentration in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University.
