NWEA is a research-based, not-for-profit organization that supports students and educators worldwide by creating assessment and learning solutions that precisely measure growth and proficiency—and provide trustworthy insights to help tailor instruction.

LENS is an innovative machine learning architecture designed to combine the strengths of Bayesian inference and neural networks into a tool help teachers understand and use the data collected by standardized assessments for instructional purposes. LENS could also help power a new generation of assessment that combines information from both in-class practice and quizzes with formal standardized tests to paint a clearer picture of what students know and can do.
