Hello hello! My name is Angelina and I'm a junior studying Data Science and Society & Environment. Like many people, I took Data 8 and that's when I started pursuing data science! I love exploring any overlap between sustainability and data science and seeing how that intersectionality can also impact other fields. In my free time, I like going out to eat food, watching shows, and learning how to do nail art. Hi everyone! My name is Asbah, and I am a senior studying Data Science and Cognitive Science, and I am have also completed the Berkeley Certificate in Design Innovation. I was first exposed to the Data Science field when I took Data 8 in my first semester at Cal. Data 8 opened my eyes to the numerous applications of Data Science to almost any other field, which spurred my interest in the subject even further. Cognitive Science is also an interdisciplinary field, and I find it fascinating how both subjects go hand-in-hand. This encouraged me to become more involved in organizations at Cal, such as DSUS, to share my passion with my peers. I have previously been on course staff for Data 100 and Data 144, which were both fulfilling experiences. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, reading, going on walks, and organizing. Hello! My name is Cesar Cruz and I am a 4th year student in Data Science and Applied Math. I first started majoring in math, but became interested in Data Science after completing Data 8 during my sophomore fall. Ever since then, I have still loved all the classes and new material I have learned through this major. I am currently applying the skills I have gained in class to personal projects and looking for a career post-grad. Some of my hobbies include dancing in my club, playing games, and creating valuable memories with others. Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Inga, and I'm a junior double majoring in Data Science and Economics at UC Berkeley. As a first-generation Latinx student, I wasn’t sure which path to take when I first arrived at Berkeley, but everything changed after I took Data 8. Although it was more challenging than I anticipated, it sparked my interest for data science because of its broad applications across various fields.
