How to Get Advising for Data Science
Attend welcome events: We encourage all new students to visit us at Cal Day or Golden Bear Welcome which will be your best opportunity to talk to Data Science faculty, advisors, and fellow students.
Golden Bear Advising: All new students will receive information in May (1st year admits) or June (transfer admits) about participating in Golden Bear Advising (GBA). This will be your opportunity to connect with your advisor, ask questions, and plan your Fall schedule.
Please wait until GBA before booking an appointment or visiting our drop-in advising hours. In April and May, we are prioritizing advising for our continuing students and graduating seniors. If you have an urgent question that cannot wait, you are welcome to send us an email at ds-advising@berkeley.edu.
